Poppin The Cherry!
So this is my first blog. {Insert the Hallelujah Chorus} I don't know how interesting my life really is or who would want to read about it. Regardless, it's an insight to things that go on in my, oh so glamorous military, life.
To catch everyone up, my husband's name is Kevin. He's serving his tour in Afghanistan. I probably should have started this blog when he left, but we are almost half-way through our first deployment now.
I seem to have the most unbelievable things happen to me that I just can't do anything but laugh. Take this past week for example. I went home to Indiana to visit my family and friends for two weeks. Trying to get back to Hawaii was the most irritating experience. My first flight, on Monday, was overbooked and I gave up my seat to a woman who had been on standby 3 different times. I could afford to stay an extra night at home. I got a voucher out of it so no prob. Well, as the saying goes, "No good deed goes unpunished." I have been punished hardcore! My flight the next day, Tuesday, was delayed for about 5 hours because of some battery that they needed. I offered my rechargeable AAs from my camera, but it obviously wasn't that simple. I was going to miss my connecting flight and would have been stranded in Dallas. Keep in mind that my luggage was already on it's way to Hawaii from the day before. I call the airlines to make sure my bag has made it to Hawaii only to find out that they can't find my bag. Good news is that they did find it, though. I finally get back to Hawaii Wed. night. I started unpacking on Thurs. and found some things missing from my bag! Awesome, right? I make it through the rest of the week, but started getting blisters on my fingers and my feet. I thought it was just from being away from work and then having to work 2 long shifts right away. Boy was I wrong! I have Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease. It used to be called Hoof and Mouth. It's a virus that causes small blisters on hands, feet, and in the mouth. Luckily, I don't have any in my mouth! They will go away on their own. I'm just glad last week is over!
I'm one more week closer to my baby coming home! This is gonna be a good week and I'm already looking forward to the weekend. *Here's to life!*
